2022 was a year of return, recalibration, and perhaps most importantly, reconnection.
While we are fortunate to now be equipped with the skills and knowledge to be effective remotely, we also immensely appreciate the opportunity to embrace and expand those abilities safely in a more personal environment. We are truly grateful to be able to get back together with our clients and colleagues and to hear directly from you about the triumphs, fears, and long-term objectives that have become so much more salient this year. Through these renewed connections, we can better understand our clients’ positioning, leading EBG to develop new, innovative approaches to help organizations weather both macroeconomic and industry-specific changes.
Economic headwinds and new legislation have created uncertainty across all industries, leaving many unsure of the correct course to chart. From increased consumerization in health care and a tapered enthusiasm for transactions to a definitively pro-employee wave of regulation, we have observed a distinct change of direction in many industries. Fortunately, our firm has significantly reinforced its abilities this year to confront these new needs: our attorneys and consultants at EBG Advisors offer exceptional and informed perspectives to help guide critical decision-making, while newly developed resources such as the From Roe to Dobbs 50-state survey and enhanced programs like Halting Harassment® continue to provide guidance in employment and health care through 2023 and beyond.
It is through a collaborative and connected culture across our many practices and offices throughout the United States that EBG continues to provide and improve its far-reaching thought leadership. With major developments in attorney talent and initiatives across the country, and specifically in the Midwest and Southeast, we have strategically identified areas with vibrant growth opportunities for employers, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, hospitality businesses, retailers, and others. Not only has our reach grown geographically, but so has the breadth and depth of our practices, as we commit to new growth in areas such as telehealth, distressed assets, and mental health parity.
This year, we have connected with you to celebrate countless wins and create strategic positioning for many more. Our core values of teamwork, entrepreneurial adaptability, and respect have been foundational to how we form connections in relationships new and old, in person and remotely. While 2022 has presented its share of challenges, we are extremely proud of the client service and firm initiatives described throughout this report. During 2021, EBG’s team members connected seamlessly wherever and whenever it was helpful to our clients and ourselves through our hybrid work environment. These connections occurred when together in our offices or by using technology when we were apart. It is these connections that make us not just valuable legal advisors but trusted business partners to many of our clients. The alliance between EBG and Deloitte Legal has shown employers that the future of work is changing, and we are assisting with that change, both in the United States and globally.
EBG Advisors broadens our service offerings—from legal services alone to various aspects of professional services, including legal—to provide a multidisciplinary approach to helping health care and life sciences organizations across various segments of the industry overcome obstacles and pursue new pathways in regulatory and market environments.
